HER SUPOSSED PUNK SELF

Avril is putting off this image that she is a rebel, a hardcore punk, despises authority, and can skateboard. First off, avril is not a rebel. What she thinks is rebel is not really rebel. In her 'Complicated' video, she is seen in the mall running into stores, trying on clothes, jumping into a pool, and driving around a little toy car that little kids use. That would not be considered a rebel. That would be considered stupid. Rebel is going into a mall, running around in your most despised shops knocking everything down off of the shelves, getting food and then making a mess by dumping it all on the floor, setting a couple things on fire, and stealing stuff. Notice how avril doesn't do any of that or anything like that. She also 'despises authority'. But then in an interview, she is found to be saying that if she didn't become famous, she would have become a police officer. It seems to me she likes to have authority but doesn't like to have people bossing her around. As for her skateboarding, she can't whatsoever, despite what people might say. Who cares about the 'Complicated' video? All that she is seen doing is going up and down a hill. And we can't even be sure that it was her. Anybody can do that, even me, and I don't normally skateboard. When asked about it, she proclaimed, "Dude, I suck." If she's so bad at it, why does she constantly pose with skateboards in her hand and tried to make it look like she was actually doing tricks in her videos?

HER GUITAR SKILLS

Avril can't seem to stick with one story when it comes to talking about her guitar skills. First, she says that she started playing when she was 12, and then she said that she started in her junior year. If she really did start playing when she was 12, wouldn't you think that she would actually play the guitar for a couple more songs on her cd? If you look at the credits, you will see that she only plays the guitar for one song on the cd, and the song isn't too great. But then again, if she started playing in her junior year, and she should be a senior right now, that would mean that she would be playing for about a year, right? This story might be true, but highly unlikely, because of yet another thing she has said about her guitar playing. She said that she didn't learn from reading music, that she didn't want it to get in the way of her music and that she played what felt right. If all this were true then she wouldn't be able to play the guitar whatsoever, she would just be able to strum on it a bit and not really make a song out of it, or any song, for that matter. In conclusion, none of her stories fit together to make one clear story, so I must conclude that she can strum a couple notes on the guitar, but she can't play the guitar.

HER BAD MOUTH

She will either say f*** or s*** in every other sentence. But sometimes, she just manages to fit the both in the same sentence, like bookends. It seems like 99% of the crap that she says is either contradicting herself or talking like she is a real punk rocker. She disses very popular artists. "I mean, the way she dresses ? would you walk around the street in a f***** bra?" and "Britney Spears goes up onstage and dresses like a showgirl. She's not being herself. Y'know, it's just not clicking. She's doing one thing and saying another thing, y'know? It's definitely not what I'm going to do." But then this is also something else that she said, "Today, I rejected some gorgeous publicity shots because they just didn't look like me. I won't wear skanky clothes that show off my booty, my belly, or boobs. I have a great body. I could be Britney. I could be better than Britney." um, right. then why did she even let them take the shots? With her rebellious personality, why didn't she refuse and knock out the guy who asked her to do it? And that is VERY self-centered with the whole "i can be better the Britney" thing. She will never have enough talent, repsect, or looks to beat Britney. Just so you people no, I am not a fan of Britney, but I do think that she is pretty and des have more talent than avril. But then, who doesn't?

HER LYRICS

Or can I say, her songwriter's lyrics with a couple words written by avril. She also has a couple of mixed up stories to go with this. She has said that she wrote all the songs when she was 16, that she writes what she's feeling at the end of the day, that she has people helping her write songs, the stories are endless. She probably gave things to write about to her songwriters and they came back with a complete song that gets stuck in people's heads for days. Except for a couple, which are so bad that they had to be written by avril herself. For example, avril's song, Sk8r Boi, "He was a boi/she was a girl/can I make it anymore obvious?" Geez avril I really don't think you can. "He was a punk/ she did ballet/ what more can I say?" And she says she doesn't label people. What a hypocrite.
